OTHER PEOPLE’S HABITS

Nothing so needs reforming as other people’s habits.  Mark Twain

We tend to notice the faults of other people before we notice our own.  It’s often an initial step in self-improvement, providing we pay attention.  When we notice things about others that annoy us we can take a moment to reflect on our own habits to gain personal insight.  The decision to consistently take a moment to reflect on our own habits when noticing issues of others, will evolve into our ability to recognize a negative trait within ourselves.  So, next time we find ourselves criticizing another person, we can stop to reflect on ourselves.  By doing so, we will tap into our inner wisdom which, naturally, is highlighting for us the very thing we need to address within ourselves.   It’s really quite simple.   The negative trait we most often notice in others, is the very trait we need to change about ourselves.
