ANOTHER’S BURDEN

None knows the weight of another’s burden. (Dictionary of English Proverbs/Thomas Preston)  Everyone has a burden.  Social media posts would have us believe that everyone (except us) are living their best lives.  In fact, no one is perfect and no one is without some problem, concern, stress, or hardship.  No, it’s not equal or equitable, but it is life.  We need to be mindful of the fact that what we see is what people show us not what really is.  People have a public self and a private self (among any number of other selves as well).  Don’t compare your private self to other people’s pubic self. Better yet, don’t compare yourself to others at all.  We are all people.  We are born, we live, and we die–end of story.
