Remember this, if you’ve been hated, you’ve also been loved (Henry James). Hate is the flip-side of love. You can tell how much love there was in a relationship by the amount of anger displayed during the break-up. When we don’t care about someone the loss of that relationship stirs up no emotion. We have strong emotions when we do care. That’s why disagreements can be so emotional–because we have feelings about that person and the relationship. The stronger the emotion (good or bad), the more feelings involved.
