BONNIE AND CLYDE

I don’t understand why people idolize Bonnie and Clyde.  They were thieves.  They were criminals.  They killed people.  They were part of a gang.  They robbed small stores and rural gas stations.  The preyed on the average working class citizen.  This is what is wrong with the United States culture.  We portray criminals as heroes  and role models.  We still do it today.  Movies are made about murderers, drug dealers, and swindlers making it look so cool.  Shows like “Orange is the New Black” and “Breaking Bad” are two examples.  I remember when “Helter Skelter” was released and many in my high school went around calling themselves by the Manson Family names.  Remember “Smoky and the Bandit”?  The heroes were the ones breaking the law and flaunting it in law enforcement’s face.  Breaking the law and trampling on the rights of others is not worthy of books, movies, and becoming cultural icons.  We really should be better than that.  What do you think?
