I MISS MY MIND THE MOST

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most (Mark Twain).  As I get older I notice my mind does not work as well as it used to.  I have more difficulty remembering things and my short term recall is abysmal.  We all get older and sure we probably will lose many of the things we took for granted in our youth.  Maybe we won’t be a quick to learn, perhaps our physical health won’t be as good as it was, or it’s possible our personalities sharpen or soften as we age.  On the other hand, the wisdom that comes with growing older, the readjustment of priorities, and the ability to take pleasure in small things along the way make it worthwhile.  Whether we like it or not and in spite of our best efforts to fight the negative effects of aging, we all will age–if we live long enough.
