“You’ll never appreciate the daylight till you’ve walked on the dark side of the night, without even the stars to show you the way.” Eliza Maxwell, The Unremembered Girl Life is made up of good moments and bad moments. Both are real and both are part of what makes us who we are. Noticing one while ignoring the other is only half living. The good does not disrespect the bad and the bad does not erase the good. Sometimes, in the midst of a bad season, we refuse to acknowledge the things we could be thankful for. We are allowed to be thankful for the little things in the middle of living through a terrible thing. Sometimes the good outweighs the bad while other times the bad outweighs the good. Both still exist. Both are valid. When we are going through a hard time, it will help some to pay attention to the blessings anyway. We all need hope and by not overlooking the positives during suffering, we can build hope.
