Failure is an event not a person. Yesterday ended last night. We are not failures simply because we failed and our failures do not define us forever. Sometimes we let one mistake or bad relationship continue haunting us. We beat ourselves up over past decisions or oversights. We continuously feel sorry for ourselves over regrets and betrayals. We live in the past by resurrecting the bad memories and poor choices. Instead, we could let the past stay with yesterday and see each day as a new start, a new beginning. No matter how bad the past was and no matter what horrible things we’ve been through, we can remind ourselves that it’s over–the past is over.
