Satisfying a “sweet tooth” is very important to success with any healthy eating plan.  I’m not obsessed with sweets but I do like to eat something sweet following my meals–especially if the meal was spicy or salty.  I’ve found that a cup of hot chocolate or a piece of hard candy usually satisfies the craving.  Both hot chocolate and hard candy take a few minutes to consume.  The time involved and the sweetness of each is normally enough for me.  I don’t feel deprived and I don’t binge on dessert as a result.  Other options I’ve used includes a piece of dark chocolate, marshmallows, whipped cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt or regular yogurt.  A piece of toast with jelly would work as well.  I’ve also found a cup of hot apple juice is incredibly sweet.  You may also like this recipe from another blogger:
