I DON’T HAVE A RIGHT

I don’t have a right to tell you how to think, feel or believe.

I don’t have a right to inflict myself on you in any way.

I don’t have a right to hurt you because you hurt me.

I don’t have a right to change you.

I don’t have a right to force you to listen to me.

I don’t have a right to make you try to understand me.

I don’t have a right to help you against your will.

I don’t have a right to impose my values or beliefs on you.

I don’t have a right to fix you to my own specifications.

I don’t have a right to build myself up at your expense.

I am not more important than you.

My rights do not supersede yours.

If the exercise of my so-called rights results in the degradation of you as a person then I have misunderstood and misapplied my rights.

Please forgive me.
