• How quick people are to forgive if given half a chance!
  • The human spirit has more power over who or what a person becomes than either nature (gentics) or nurture (environment) combined.
  • People would rather have your time and your attention than trinkets, entertainment, gadgets, activities or most anything else.
  • You can have fun without spending money or going away somewhere.
  • Chores can also be fun.  It’s easy to make a game out of work.  I still do it when I can.
  • Discipline means “to teach” and it works better if it’s respectful, thoughtful and meaningful.
  • You can’t really spoil a person by loving them too much.  Gratitude is the antidote to selfishness.
  • You don’t have to hurt someone to help someone.  People generally learn the wrong things from deliberate hurt and inflicted pain.
  • A child can become a stronger, smarter, healthier and happier adult than either of their parents (and better looking too).
  • Listen close to what children say and they will tell you great truths that would otherwise take years of study to discover.
  • No one knows me better than my children–both good and bad qualities.  The fact they still love me shows the true meaning of unconditional love.  It’s not about liking, agreeing with or even putting up with behaviors.  It’s loving a person in spite of the mistakes, disagreements and hurt.  It’s being able to say “you weren’t perfect and you weren’t always right and I love you”.
  • My children are constant reminders that the world will go on with or without me and earth is a better place because of them.  I am forever grateful and awestruck that I was given the honor and privledge to have even a small part of these amazing young people existing.
